Alamad means “learning” in the Tamashek language of the Tuareg.  The Sahara’s nomadic people centred around Niger and Mali.

Alamad is an NGO charity, created after the 2007-2010 Tuareg Rebellion, to support the nomads  social-economic developpement in Niger , specialy for women and girls education in the Sahara.

It was created by local nomad leaders , and is supported by tourism operators like Tinarewene Expeditions and MudMaps (Australia).
